Sara + Damon | William Paca House Wedding

It may already be the end of September, but Fall is just starting to come around the corner in Northeast Maryland! The sky was a perfect blue, and the smallest cool breeze rolled through the lush gardens as Sara walked down the isle with her dad at the William Paca House. You didn’t have to be looking through a lens like me, to see the love and pride in his eyes as he walked his only daughter down the isle. The tightly-packed crowd of friends and family looked on as if they had been waiting for this day for a very long time.

I had been with the groom, Damon, all morning. I knew just how anxious he was to finally see his bride, and the grin on his face said it all. He told me stories of how they had met in New Orleans, and how their love grew stronger through one Mardi Gras season after the other. I loved hearing these stories, as they made me relive the amazing times Connor and I had in the Crescent City just this past February.

If you know anything about my style, my favorite thing to photograph is details. They’re what make each wedding unique and special to the couple. Well, these two definitely had touches of New Orleans intertwined with the historic Annapolis setting. One of my favorites was the 8-piece band that kept everyone on the dance floor until they shut the place down!

Sometimes, photographing a wedding can seem like a routine for a photographer. Getting the same shots over and over again. BUT, this couple and their friends radiated a good, genuine time – and it was an honor to help capture it all. My biggest thanks and gratitude to Hannah Lane Photography for letting me assist as her second shooter for this wedding. Please go check out more of her work here!
